nGeorgia-Pacific?s Naheola Mill located in Pennington, Alabama, is a manufacturing site for the company?s well-known consumer products business. More than 900 employees produce a wide range of products for the consumer business, including Angel Soft bath tissue and Sparkle paper towels, as well as bleached paperboard used in Dixie paper cups and plates. The mill is the largest employer in the community and is engaged in supporting community outreach, workforce development and education. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

+ Forming a partnership with maintenance groups throughout the mill; meet with both management and hourly employees.

n

+ Investigate to identify root cause issues and correct any substandard conditions.

n

+ Understanding and utilize data to establish priorities using TRAX and other data gathering tools.

n

+ Participating in maintenance safety checklists process.

n

+ Developing risk assessments including evaluations of TRAX incidents.

n

+ Conduct safety observations of maintenance work and provide feedback to maintenance leadership.

n

+ Evaluating Pre-Work Hazard analysis before work is started.

n

+ Mentoring and assist maintenance organization to understand GP compliance standards.

n

+ Promoting communication between maintenance and operations of maintenance work to be performed.

n

+ Learning and be proficient in TRAX as well as other designated tools used to collect Leading Indicators within the facility.

n

+ Enhancing the mill?s capability in the development and implementation of fundamental safety programs. Fundamental programs include, but are not limited to Confined Space, Emergency Response, Electrical, Safe Work Practices, Lock Tag Verify, Fall Protection, Incident Investigation, Mobile Equipment, Cranes and Rigging, Personal Protective Equipment, and Safe Work Permits.

+ Assisting in the development and delivery of required regulatory tr ining

n

+ Performing Hazard Identification Risk Assessments (HIRA) and other risk assessments at the facility

n

+ Working independently with vendors on finding solutions to safety opportunities

n

What You Will Need:

nBasic Qualifications:

+ High School Diploma or GED (or higher)

n

+ Experience working with OSHA regulations in manufacturing or construction environment

n

+ Experience and knowledge of OSHA 1910 compliance regulations to include recordkeeping, as well as relevant industry safety standards such as ISO 13849, ANSI B11, NFPA 79, and ANSI Z244.1

n

+ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (spreadsheet creation/ editing, pivot tables, formula creation, etc.), PowerPoint (Presentation creation/editing), and Word (creating and modifying documents and tables)

n

+ Experience and knowledge in recognizing and mitigating hazards

n

+ Willing
