SUMMARY Under the general direction of the Quality Assurance and Control Manager, the Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for evaluating and improving activities concerned with the application, development and maintenance of quality tasks in support of the Quality Management System (QMS) and the reliability and continuous improvement of product and processes. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Continuously review and improve the identification and application of elements of the corrective action process, including problem identification, failure analysis, root cause analysis, problem correction, recurrent control and verification of effectiveness * Review and approve Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) documentation, ensure proper application of quality tools and principles, and ensure robustness of corrective and preventive actions. * Liaison with customers on Quality Escapes and the root cause investigations/corrective actions. * Maintain AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS), to include: * Revise and update all QMS documentation to supplied revisions. * Conduct and manage internal audits. * Liaison with AS9100 Registrar and Auditors during annual audits. * Maintain the Supplier Management System: * Keep the Approved Supplier List database current. * Conduct supplier audits and ensure re-audits and certificates are current. * Approve new Suppliers * Maintain Quality Clauses * Issue SCAR's for nonconformance's and review/approve responses. * This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary * PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * Degree in an engineering or related field, or 10+ years of relevant quality and manufacturing experience within an ISO/AS controlled environment. * Experience within the Aerospace Industry with exposure to AS9100 and FAA regulations preferred. * Experience with CAPA and related processes required.
