This job was posted by https://joblink.alabama.gov : For more information, please see: https://joblink.alabama.gov/ada/r/jobs/2402048 This opportunity will provide systems engineering, requirements management, verification and validation (V&V) coordination, and element/system level integration support to the MSFC Systems Requirements & Verification Branch (EV73) for the Space Launch System (SLS) Spacecraft Payload Integration and Evolution (SPIE) Office, and to the MSFC Systems Engineering and Integration Division (EV70).The successful candidate will coordinate and interface with SPIE Office Element Chief Engineer and the Element Lead Systems Engineer, as well as participate in reviews, meetings, working groups, task teams, and trade studies.The candidate will supply leadership and/or support for the development of key systems engineering products for the Integrated Spacecraft and Payload Element (ISPE), support program/project milestones, and subsequent activities where these products are assessed and matured.System engineering support that will be provided and performed by the candidate includes:- Lead and/or support element and/or subsystem design trades and analysis necessary to validate the requirements, maintain control of the design baseline, and continually track compliance of the design to the requirements during design, development, testing and evaluation.- Lead and/or support the development of key systems engineering products for ISPE Element to support program/project milestones and the subsequent activities where these products are assessed and matured.- Evaluate Prime Contractor deliverables including requirements and specifications as well as verification of allocated end item specification requirements.- Develop integrated schedules and other tracking mechanisms to manage the work and identify risks and opportunities.- Develop SLS SPIE V&V planning products, methodology, and processes, including:- Defining verification requirements, verification planning, verification implementation, compliance assessment, requirement closure and validation implementation.- Providing V&V planning, execution, coordination, and integration for ISPE systems/subsystems.- Performing vertical integration among vehicle-level, element, subsystem and component products.- Performing horizontal integration with other elements to ensure consistency across the program.- Developing and maintaining Detailed Verification Objectives (DVOs), as well as a V&V database- Communicate issues, best practices, lessons-learned and other technical positions related to systems engineering, requirement management, and V&V practices and procedures.- Assist in defining and developing flight evaluation strategies, flight data analysis (FDA), flight test objectives (FTOs), and integrated test and checkout activities associated with the ISPE.- Support the Integrated Test and Checkout (ITCO) plans being developed at the Cross-Program level.- Identify, develop, review, and/or approve requirements supporting integration and test, and checkout events including Operational Maintenance Requirements and Specifications (OMRSs), Launch Commit Criteria (LCC), safety verifications, and requirements in other released engineering artifacts.- Identify, describe and communicate potential risks related to the products, processes and interactions in the V&V program.Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university is required. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph.D., with a minimum 19 years of experience, Masters with at least 23 years of experience, or BS with at least 25 years of experience.
