The System Administrator performs the essential functions in these areas of specialty.

Areas of Specialty

Network

  • Responsible for the system development life cycle and the relationship of business processes, data, applications and technology.

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the components that make up an information technology reference architecture. Specifically understand cross functional solution integration in the following areas: Compute; Storage; Infrastructure Networking; and Information Security.

  • Ability to design and develop network architectures and standards that align with business requirements and desired business outcomes.

  • Provide and support governance policies and procedures including change management.

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform an assessment of design changes and impact to ensure compliance with governance policies, information architecture and other organizational policies.

Telecommunications

  • Responsible for design and/or analytical tasks and activities such as VoIP desing, call routing& implementation, diagnostics, end-user support and wireless enablement.

  • Monitor the operation of telecom platforms and applications and perform simple to complex tasks related to telephony installations, operations and maintenance.

  • Responsible for deployment, maintenance, billing and usage accuracy for all company-issued cellular-service enabled mobile devices.

  • This position will involve daily interaction with end users in a large campus environment as well as remote support of employees in remote office locations.

Compute/Storage

  • Ability to design and develop compute/storage architectures and standards that align with business requirements and desired business outcomes.

  • Provide and support governance policies and procedures including change management.

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform an assessment of design changes and impact to ensure compliance with governance policies, information architecture and other organizational policies.

Information Security

  • Responsible for the system development life cycle and the relationship of business processes, data, applications and technology.

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the components that make up an information technology reference architecture. Specifically understand cross functional solution integration in the following areas: Compute; Storage; Infrastructure Networking; and Information Security.

  • Responsible for advising on creation and/or adjustment of Microsoft Group Policy to conform to corporate compliance standards.

  • Troubleshooting issues that may result from group policy adjustment.

  • Responsible for advising on establishment and maintenance of Microsoft Active Directory best practice policies and procedures.

  • Setup, monitor, maintain and operate company-adopted Multi-Factor Authentication mechanisms.

  • Advise and participate in the setup, maintenance, and operation of DNS, DHCP and DFS.

  • Review and assess event logs from all infrastructure sources.

  • Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot ADFS (Active Directory Federated Services)

  • Advise and participate in the setup and maintenance, and of NTFS permissions.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience in a related field with 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.

Areas of Specialty

Network

  • CCNA certification preferred.

  • Demonstrated expertise installing, configuring and operating Cisco network equipment

  • Able to configure a variety of firewalls including but not limited to the Cisco ASA.

Telecommunications

  • Install and support telephony solutions across the enterprise working as a member of the IT team.

  • Works individually and in a team environment to drive new initiatives and complete existing projects for VoIP PBX offerings (conference bridging, SIP trunking, etc.).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve telecom issues using tools to trace issues and determine root cause.

  • Implement call flow/call routing paths that meet business requirements.

    • Handle routine requests for such things as moves/ adds/changes and changes in a large campus environment and remote offices.
  • Prepare, review and submit orders for telecom equipment and network following vendor policies, IT Procurement policies.

  • Effectively interacts with peers, teams, business partners, & management to understand & document business & IT decisions & needs.

  • Serve as the key support person for Telecom related issues related to existing installations and will work closely with the trouble and repair team to address customer needs.

Compute/Storage

VMware

  • Ability to implement and manage multiple hosts.

  • Demonstrated ability to set up and manage High Availability with shared storage virtual environments and vMotion vmWare features.

  • Responsibility for all aspects of VMware service delivery lifecycle methodology (e.g., plan, architecture & design, implement and build, operations, monitoring and support)

  • Be familiar with vSphere PowerCLI and/or PowerShell, able to understand the code enough to combine / rewrite multiple scripts into one.

  • Experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining distributed virtual switches in a VMware environment. Replication and Data Protection background a plus.

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or other relevant certifications are preferred.

SAN Hardware

  • Ability to articulate best practices to provision and route iSCSI or fiber connected storage connectivity

  • Provision LUNs and manage DR replication. Troubleshoot IOPs, cache, and usage.

  • Ability to resolve hardware failure and RAID rebuilds.

Microsoft Windows Server Network Operating Systems:

  • Minimum 5 years of applied and cross-domain knowledge in managing and supporting: Windows Servers 2008 and later and Microsoft SQL Server 2005, and later.

  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server environments to include knowledge of current supported Windows Server Versions, Active Directory Forest mode, Group Policy application, Flexible Single Master Operations (FSMO) roles, Global Directories to include Exchange and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Hyper-V, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, ADFS, and Azure (O365,AAD).

  • Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.

  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups

  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

Information Security

  • Hands on experience implementing and operating DUO 2-factor authentication.

  • Assist in troubleshooting issues that may result from a security directed group policy adjustment.

  • Demonstrated expertise in log analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience operating and interpreting results from the Nessus Vulnerability Scanner
