We are seeking a Software Configuration Management Lead Engineer to perform the following duties:
Lead a team of engineers in the build management and configuration control of a large DoD software program
Leverage a modern software toolset to ensure availability of continuous integration and release builds
Apply automation to improve efficiency and maintain quality standards
Ensure project processes are enforced and improved as required
Collaborate with team leads and program management to accomplish project goals
This Software Configuration Management Lead Engineer will be a part of the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector in our Engineering, Sciences & Technology (ES&T) Central Region. In the Mission Systems' sector, you’ll join our experts in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe. The qualified applicant will work in our Huntsville, Alabama office, headquarters for the Missile Defense and Protective Systems (MDPS) division.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This position may be filled at either a level 3 or 4.
BQs for a Software Engineer 3: requires 5 years with Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
BQs for a Software Engineer 4: requires 9 years with Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
Experience leading or contributing to a software based build system including management of tools and processes to ensure availability of software builds and timely releases to customer organizations.
Familiarity with Java based software products and Linux based Operating Systems.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Proven collaboration in a team based environment.
Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results.
Active DoD Secret clearance.
Experience leading a build team for a medium to large sized DoD software project.
Familiarity with several of the following tools: Subversion, Apache Ant, Bamboo, Crucible, Fisheye, Jira, Nexus, and Maven.
