We have an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to join out Systems Engineering and Integration group located in Huntsville, AL. This position directly supports the engineering team by developing hardware and software solutions to meet cyber security requirements on a variety of projects involving flight and ground systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Work with engineering team to define system and software cyber security requirements and develop secure solutions to meet requirements.

  • Lead process to meet cyber security Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) testing and analysis requirements.

  • Work with suppliers to ensure that procured items meet all cyber security requirements.

  • Perform cyber security Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) and Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECA).

  • Plan and perform penetration to verify security of systems.

  • Develop and generate trust boundaries.

  • Develop and perform training on cyber security for the engineering and management staff.

  • Provide expert knowledge of cyber security requirements, vulnerabilities, and solution sets.

  • Focus on obtaining customer and stakeholder approval and buy-in that solutions meet all cyber security requirements.

  • Drive rapid resolution of delays that impact schedule, cost, or technical approaches through communication with engineering, material management, contracts, procurement, company leadership, and suppliers.

  • Collaborate daily with GA-EMS and customer systems engineering, design, logistics, and other teams on verifications related to inspection, test, and analysis to meet cyber security needs.

  • Assess proposed design and requirement changes to determine impacts to cyber security.

  • Support development of new/revised design requirements related to cyber security.

  • Generates documentation and makes technical presentations as required.

  • Performs other duties as required or required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

  • Minimum of active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.

  • Must possess expert knowledge of, and experience with, hardware and software solutions to implement Department of Defense (DoD) cyber security requirements.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT), of STIGs, and of system design impacts due to cyber security requirements.

  • Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.

  • Must have strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas; capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact and support a team of experienced professional employees on multiple projects.

  • Able to work extended hours as required.
